AccessibilityUsable by keyboard, screen reader and thumb
If the site gets in your way, the phone doesn't: a person can read any page to you and take every detail the form takes.
Done
- One main heading per page and an ordered heading structure under it.
- Everything operable from the keyboard in page order, with a visible gold focus ring; a link at the top of every page jumps straight to the content.
- Menus that open on hover, keyboard focus and tap, and say whether they're open.
- Labels on every form field; the one hidden field exists only to trap automated submissions and is marked so assistive technology skips it.
- Descriptions on every photograph; decorative icons hidden from screen readers.
- Text and background colors chosen for contrast; type that scales with your browser; no control that needs a steady hand.
- Almost no motion, and what there is switches off when your system asks for reduced motion.
- Pages that fit a phone screen without sideways scrolling, except the wide price tables, which scroll within their own box.
- The yardage calculator works with the keyboard and announces its result.
Not yet
The question-and-answer sections use the browser's built-in collapsible control, which some older screen readers announce inconsistently. The price tables are wide and scroll sideways on a narrow screen. Both are on the list.
If it doesn't work for you
Call (513) 548-4296; a person answers at any hour. Or email hello@buckeyeconcreteco.com with the page and what happened, and we'll fix it and reply.
Standard
We aim at WCAG 2.2 level AA and test with keyboard-only use, a screen reader and a phone when pages change.
