Who gets paid, by whom, for what

Four questions people reasonably ask about a website that books concrete work, answered before they have to ask.

Is this site the crew that pours the concrete?

No. Buckeye Concrete Co. is the front door: it takes the call, books the estimate and issues the written price. The pouring is done by independent concrete crews based in the Cincinnati area who work with this service. The crew's name is on the written price you accept, and that crew is the party you're contracting with for the work.

So how does the site get paid?

By the crews, for the introduction and for the jobs that result from it. The homeowner isn't charged for the referral and the crew's price isn't raised to cover it; the written price is the crew's price for the work as specified.

Does that tie me to anyone?

It doesn't. The estimate is free, the written price is yours to take elsewhere for comparison, and you can decline it. The crews can also decline a job. If you go ahead, the warranty document that comes with the price says which party stands behind the work.

What do the crews bring?

Their own general liability and workers' compensation insurance (ask for the certificate from the insurer), the City of Cincinnati's street-contractor licence for any work in the right-of-way, and the permits each job requires. Ohio has no state licence for concrete contractors; nobody involved claims one.
