What this site is for, and what it can't do
We've sourced the facts and dated the numbers. It's still a website, and your driveway is still your driveway.
It is
General information about concrete work in Cincinnati and the suburbs, written so a property owner knows what to expect before anyone comes out. Where a number appears (a City spec, a permit office, a census figure, a published cost range) we say where it came from and when, because those things change.
It isn't
- A price. No figure on this site applies to your job; the written estimate after a measure does.
- Engineering. Nothing here is a structural design or a geotechnical opinion. Retaining walls above a certain height, structural slabs, anything on a sliding hillside: a licensed engineer, and we'll say so.
- Legal advice. Where we summarise the Cincinnati Municipal Code, DOTE's procedures, the Residential Code of Ohio or the Ohio Revised Code, it's a plain-words summary of public documents as they stood when the page was written. The City, your building department or a lawyer can say how they apply to you.
- Financial or insurance advice. Payment options and what a policy may cover are general; your lender, adviser or insurer answers for your situation.
- A promise about your ground. We describe Cincinnati's hills, clays and frost in general terms. Your lot is its own case, and the estimate is where it gets looked at.
Sources named here
The City of Cincinnati's Department of Transportation and Engineering, the Cincinnati Municipal Code, the U.S. Census Bureau, the Ohio Revised Code, the Ohio Department of Commerce, the Residential Code of Ohio as quoted in county handouts, the U.S. Geological Survey, WCPO, and HomeGuide. We used them; we don't speak for them and they don't endorse us.
Mistakes
If you find one, email hello@buckeyeconcreteco.com and we'll fix it. Figures are checked when a page is written and re-checked when it's updated, with the date shown where it matters.
